The goal of the USPOULTRY HR & Safety Program is to support the industry's HR & Safety efforts through technical services and education. Supporting a strong, safe, and healthy workforce is vital to maintaining a quality, wholesome food supply.

The Poultry Industry's Leading Resource for Human Resources, Safety and Risk Management News. The information in People Matters is intended to inform our members of current human resource issues affecting the industry and is not necessarily representative of USPOULTRY's views on any particular topic.

Program Overview

USPOULTRY develops industry-specific education and training programs and identifies and maintains technical resources addressing key industry issues. These resources help member companies improve operations, identify and reduce loss exposures and enhance employee safety and retention.

Regulatory Issues

Topics in this section include human resources, general safety, ergonomics, incident management, and machine safety.

Safety & Health Award Programs

Overseen by USPOULTRY, the Joint Poultry Safety and Health Council sponsor the Joint Poultry Industry Safety Recognition Award Program for NCC, NTF, and USPOULTRY members. The program seeks to highlight employers continuously improving their safety performance through the establishment of sound safety and health programs at the facility level and recognizes those facilities that have achieved a high level of safety performance as part of a continuing effort to reduce occupational injury and illness.

Training Resources

Training tools in human resources, health, and safety are available to members free of charge online. The training tools provide USPOULTRY members with practical, industry-specific information to improve facility operations or workplace safety.

POULTRY & EGG INDUSTRY OSHA TRAINING PROGRAM

Whether it's your first time entering The Poultry & Egg Industry or you've been a supervisor for years, the Poultry & Egg OSHA Training Program provides workers with basic and more advanced training about common safety and health hazards on the job.
