Research Program

The USPOULTRY industry research grants program encompasses all segments of broiler, turkey, and commercial egg operations. To date more than $34 million has been invested in the association's research program. One of USPOULTRY's key strategic objectives is to increase the availability and constant improvement of the quality and safety of poultry products through comprehensive research.

USPOULTRY Webinar: A Chat with the FRAC- Insight into Three New Board Research Initiatives

USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation have approved three new Board Research Initiatives (BRI) and have submitted a request for preproposals (RFP). The three BRI topics are Ornithobacterium rhinotracheale in Turkey Production, Infectious Coryza in Commercial Layers and Clostridial Diseases in Poultry. The USPOULTRY Foundation Research Advisory Committee (FRAC) will be hosting a Zoom webinar on Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. EDT to provide an overview of the RFPs for these three BRI topics and the process for submitting a preproposal. The meeting is free and open to all researchers interested in learning more about the RFPs for these three topics. There will be an opportunity to ask specific questions to the FRAC, and the meeting will be recorded and made available afterwards. Don't miss this opportunity. The deadline to submit a preproposal is Nov. 1.

The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association (USPOULTRY) is dedicated to the growth, progress, and welfare of the poultry industry and all of its individual and corporate interests. The promotion of problem-related research and the concomitant training of graduate students are priorities for the association. Charles Beard Research Excellence Award

USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation are accepting nominations from colleges and universities for the Charles Beard Research Excellence Award through July 1. The goal of this award is to recognize outstanding completed research projects, funded by USPOULTRY or the USPOULTRY Foundation, which have made a significant positive impact on the poultry industry. The nominee may be recognized for one or multiple completed USPOULTRY research projects.

Proposed research projects should be designed to provide information that has the potential to resolve real industry problems. This list is organized by overall subject area. Items within each list are presented in priority order. The list is updated and revised every two years.

USPOULTRY maintains an index of completed research documentation that is searchable using our Completed Research Search Portal. Search by keyword or by month/year. Targeted keyword results are ranked by relevance to the topic searched for efficiency.
