USPOULTRY to Host 2026 Hatchery-Breeder Clinic Focused on Innovation, Operational Excellence and Flock Performance
USPOULTRY will host its 2026 Hatchery-Breeder Clinic from July 8-9 in Nashville, Tenn. The annual clinic will bring together hatchery and breeder managers and other industry professionals to discuss the latest strategies, technologies and operational practices impacting breeder and hatchery performance.
Educational sessions will cover leadership and operational excellence, pullet brooding and rearing, feather scoring, feeding today’s hens and pullets, hatchery key performance indicators, cleaning tools and sanitation practices, biosecurity, avian metapneumovirus updates, and egg handling and storage practices and the effects on embryo development. The clinic will also highlight new technologies and equipment for breeder houses and hatcheries, including male chain feeders and added hen feeder space, community nests, hatchery planning and innovations. Attendees will gain practical insights they can apply directly to improve flock performance, hatchability and operational efficiency while gaining valuable knowledge exchange with peers and industry experts.
“The hatchery and breeder sectors continue to evolve rapidly, and today’s managers are expected to balance bird performance, operational efficiency, flock health and emerging technologies all at once,” said Sara Byrd, live haul supervisor for House of Raeford Farms Inc. and planning committee chair. “This clinic is designed to provide practical, real-world information attendees can take back to their operations immediately, while also creating opportunities to learn from industry experts and connect with peers facing many of the same challenges.”
The 2026 USPOULTRY Hatchery-Breeder Clinic planning committee includes Sara Byrd, House of Raeford Farms Inc. and program committee chair; Josh Cannon, House of Raeford Farms Inc.; Chad Mason, House of Raeford Farms Inc.; Collin Powell, Peco Foods Inc.; and Adam Rutledge, Mountaire Corp.
