USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation Open Preproposal Submissions for 2026 Spring Research Competition
USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation are now accepting research preproposals for the 2026 Spring Research Competition. The submission deadline is Nov. 3, and the opportunity is open to colleges, universities and research institutions.
The program funds projects that address key challenges across the poultry and egg industry, including animal welfare, breeder management (turkeys and broilers), meat bird management, commercial egg production, diseases, environmental management, food safety, hatchery management, nutrition, processing, and employee safety and health.
Applicants are asked to submit a one-page synopsis outlining their potential research project. The Foundation Research Advisory Committee, comprised of industry professionals, will evaluate preproposals and invite full proposals that align with the organization’s current research priorities. A comprehensive and updated list of these priorities is published every two years on the USPOULTRY website. Innovative research concepts outside the current priority list are also welcome and will be considered based on demonstrated need.
Since its inception, the program has invested more than $37 million ($65 million adjusted for inflation) in research grants, benefiting more than 50 universities and federal and state facilities. Final funding decisions for the Spring Competition will be announced in April 2026.
For detailed submission guidelines and to review the current research priorities, visit uspoultry.org.
